Jon is a songwriter and performer, has produced and engineered a number of independent albums and tracks for both himself and other artists, and has been a session musician for a number of recordings. He’s had airplay on radio and television, and been awarded grants from FACTOR, Canada Council for the Arts, Ontario Arts Council, and the province of Nova Scotia.
Jon currently co-operates a studio in Victoria, BC, but has flown back to the Maritimes a few times in the last few years to work on new albums for a few Halifax based artists. Both projects should be seeing a release date this year. He is also working on albums for a couple of artists in Victoria, and just finished recording a new solo album – CONFUSER – in January.
Jon flew back to Toronto last year, as well. His Toronto-based soul-outfit – Jon Epworth & The Miracle Sweat – recently held a residency at The Root Down, a studio co-operative run by Arts & Crafts, Universal Music, and Bedtracks Music Licensing, where Jon wrote, produced and arranged the band’s sophomore album, culminating in a showcase for the new material. The new album has a tentative release date of August 2017.
